Sowing Seeds

With the lovely sunshine of the last few days, the urge to start work in the garden became irresistable. For some weeks now we have been planning to assemble a raised bed for growing vegetables. This is new ground for me, as my experience of vegetable gardening is limited to childhood marrows.

We decided on a small two metre square plot, complete with a little path to help access the centre of the bed. We had the wood cut to the correct lengths, and contemplated the big build.

We had already dug and weeded the plot, so now all we had to do was put the frame in place.

It took a bit more effort than expected to hammer the stakes right down, and the screws in the framework worked their way a bit loose, but it looked pretty good when we'd finished, despite a slight bit of the obligatory wonk.

Today we planted our first seeds. We planted broad beans, peas, carrots, leeks, perpetual spinach, normal spinach, and little gem and lollo rosso lettuce. We will do another successional sowing in a couple of weeks, if all goes to plan.

Project X, my mysterious next musical extravaganza is nearing completion, but I still want at least one more song for it, so it is a little way off still. I've been doing a few ambient drone pieces on the side, and will endeavour to upload one soon.

Dusty is still as rascally a cat as ever, and caught her first mouse recently. Fortunately, the little chap wasn't harmed, and we have since released him back into the wild, as us naturalists say. Here is the little furry fellow on his way back to freedom.

The Mysterious Project X

It's been ages since I posted anything here. Many apologies, but I have been up to my eyeballs in a new music project, and I've found it nigh on impossible to tear myself away from it for anything else.

I've got quite a way down the line with this project now, but it is far from finished. For this reason it may be a while before I get back to blogging at full steam again.

Hopefully all this will be worth the wait, as I'm pretty excited about what I've done of the project so far. I don't want to give too much about the project away in advance, so forgive me if this is all a little mysterious!

I'll be back soon...
